My employer hasn't paid over my UIF contributions.
I've been retrenched and went to claim UIF, but the Department of Labour told me my employer never registered me or paid over contributions. What can I do?

This is illegal. Employers must register employees with the UIF and pay over 2% of monthly wages. Report the employer to the Department of Labour's UIF division at any Labour Centre. The Department can investigate and impose penalties. You may still be able to claim UIF retroactively if the employer is forced to register and pay arrear contributions.
