Can WhatsApp messages be used as evidence in court?
I have screenshots of my business partner admitting in WhatsApp that he took money from our company. Can I use these in court?

Yes — electronic communications including WhatsApp messages are admissible under the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA). To strengthen admissibility: preserve the originals (export the full chat), ensure metadata (sender, timestamps) is intact, and be prepared to have the authenticity verified by a digital forensic expert.

Important: the other party may challenge admissibility if the messages were obtained in breach of privacy. Make sure you legitimately have access to those chats (e.g. you were part of the conversation). Forwarded screenshots from third parties are harder to authenticate.
