How do I change my antenuptial contract after marriage?

My wife and I got married in community of property 5 years ago. We now want to change to out of community. Is this possible?

It requires a High Court application under section 21(1) of the Matrimonial Property Act. Both spouses must consent and no creditor's interests can be prejudiced. The process involves: joint application by both spouses, a notarial post-nuptial contract drafted, registered in the Deeds Office after court approval. Typically costs R15,000–R30,000 and takes 3–6 months.
