Can I still claim from the RAF after 3 years?

I was involved in a car accident in 2023 and injured my back. I never claimed at the time because I didn't know I could. Is it too late?

You have 3 years from the date of the accident to file a RAF claim (the prescription period). If your accident was in 2023, your claim is still within time — but act urgently. There are exceptions that can extend this period in some circumstances (e.g. if you were a minor), but don't rely on them. Contact a RAF specialist immediately and keep all medical records.

To add: if you were a minor at the time of the accident, prescription only starts running when you turn 18. Also ensure your injuries are documented by a doctor — the RAF requires a medico-legal report from a specialist before they'll settle serious claims.
