About Alastair

Alastair joined the firm in 1977, became a partner in 1980 and is the senior consultant of the firm. He is a Notary Public, holds a Certificate in Tax (UKZN) and is a Fellow of the Association of Arbitrators (Southern Africa). A former vice chairman of the Association, he now serves as a director on the board of the Association and is the chairman of the KwaZulu Natal branch of the Association. He is a long serving commissioner on the Small Claims Court where he invests of his time pro bono by sitting on a monthly basis and has done so for the past 34 years. He is a long standing member of the International Bar Association. He has been recognised for many years by the international organisation, Best Lawyers, as an expert in corporate law and also latterly in construction law. During his time in practice he has gained considerable experience in diverse fields of law with particular focus on commercial law and construction law. He is a recognised expert in the field of construction law in which he regularly acts as an arbitrator, adjudicator and presenter of seminars on the subject.
