After qualifying as an attorney Francois Marais worked in a merchant banking environment, joining Central Merchant Bank as a corporate finance consultant and was promoted to Senior Manager, Corporate Finance before he left to rejoin the legal profession. Francois Marais’ practice covers the entire spectrum of general commercial work although he specialises in corporate finance with particular emphasis on mergers, takeovers, listings, private equity, leveraged buyouts, joint ventures and privatisation. Francois Marais, in addition to overseeing the corporate finance and general commercial department, takes senior partner responsibility for the property and litigation departments. Francois Marais is chairman of Primegro Properties Limited (a listed company) and a director of Decillion Limited (a listed financial services company).
