About Zelmaine

Zelmaine van der Westhuizen is a Director in GMI’s Corporate and Commercial Department. Zelmaine joined GMI as a Candidate Attorney in 2004, and was admitted as an Attorney in 2005, upon which she joined GMI’s Insurance Law Department. In 2006, she moved to the Personal Injury Department where I specialised in personal injury and medical negligence matters and related litigation in the Magistrates and High Court. Since 2011, Zelmaine has been practising in the Corporate Commercial Department. She provides corporate and commercial advice and assistance to clients in a wide range of industries, including the medical and healthcare industry, insurance industry, financial services industry and private sector, where she assists them with the structuring of business transactions and all aspects related thereto, drafting of commercial agreements and company secretarial services, as well as due diligence investigations and reporting, regulatory compliance and representation in commercial litigation proceedings and appearances before industry regulatory authorities.
