About Maria

Maria D’Amico is a senior practitioner and has extensive experience in commercial law (company law, contracts and litigation), franchising and is also a mediator. Maria’s understanding of franchising law is invaluable to anyone in the franchising industry. Maria’s winning formula is her professionalism and efficiency towards her clients’ matters. In addition, Maria received the Best Lawyers 2023 award in franchising law and is presently the chairperson of the Franchise Association of South Africa (FASA). Maria’s holds a BA (LLB) from the University of Witwatersrand and is a qualified English Solicitor on the non-practicing role for UK solicitors. She has also obtained an accredited law degree in Canada and is a qualified Civil and Commercial Mediator (having obtained her certification from the ADR – Alternative Dispute Resolution group in London). Maria continues to explore her thirst for knowledge and excellence and is presently completing her Corporate Governance diploma through the Corporate Governance Institute of Ireland.
