About Louw

De louw graduated from the University of the Free State in 1996 and is an admitted Attorney, Conveyancer, Notary (with the right of appearance in the High Courts of South Africa). He is also an external lecturer at the University of Johannesburg, lecturing Mercantile Law (Contract Law and Corporate Governance) at the Business School of the University of Johannesburg. De louw holds an Advanced Diploma in Business Rescue and is registered as a Senior Business Rescue Practitioner at the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC). De Louw is closely involved with the Legal Practitioner Council (previously the Law Society of the Northern Provinces) and serves on several committees, including the Disciplinary and Investigation Committee of the Legal Practitioner Council and as an Examiner in the Attorney’s Admission Examination for Conveyancing and Notarial Practices. After completing his articles at a law firm in Gauteng, De Louw joined Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer Solicitors (the third largest law firm in the world) in London, England as a foreign attorney in their commercial department. On his return from England, De louw acted on behalf of Sappi Limited, a JSE listed company, as an independent legal advisor before committing himself in establishing Le Roux & Du Plessis Attorneys. De Louw has more than 20 years’ experience in property law and is a frequent commentator on legal matters in the media.
